About Matt & Kodi

We believe some of the best answers are found in the AND.

  • Logic and intuition.
  • Masculine and feminine.
  • Practical and spiritual.
  • Awareness and action.

We don’t believe you have to choose one way of understanding yourself, your relationships, or the life you’re creating.

We believe there’s value in learning to use all of you.

We’re Matt and Kodi Fleming — husband and wife, parents, coaches, teachers, students of human behavior, and the people behind Free Bird Alchemy.

We aren’t here because we’ve figured out life.

We’re here because we stopped accepting that the way we’d always done it was the only way it could be done.

Matt and Kodi Fleming

Free Bird Alchemy lives in the AND.

01 — The mind

One of the most powerful tools you’ll ever work with is already yours.

Your mind can imagine something that doesn’t exist yet.

It can create meaning from an experience, recognize patterns, solve problems, rehearse possibilities, protect you, connect ideas, and influence the way you experience the world around you.

It can also continue running patterns long after you’ve forgotten why they started.

That’s why so much of our work begins with awareness.

Your mind is one of the most powerful tools you have.Learning to understand it gives you more choice in how you use it.

But we don’t believe the mind exists in isolation.

We’re human beings living through relationships, bodies, emotions, intuition, environments, experiences, and something deeper than what can always be explained logically.

That’s why our approach isn’t either/or.

  • Logic+Intuition
  • Masculine+Feminine
  • Practical+Spiritual
  • Understanding+Experience
  • Awareness+Action

We aren’t interested in forcing one side to win.

We’re interested in what becomes possible when you learn to work with the whole.

That’s the kind of balance we mean when we talk about alchemy.

02 — Two perspectives

Different paths.Different perspectives.Shared work.

Matt and Kodi didn’t arrive here the same way.

They don’t process the world the same way either.

That’s part of what makes the work theirs.

Matt

He did what he was told would work.

Go to school. Get good grades. Get a good job. Work hard. Build a family. Create security.

Matt followed the formula.

On paper, it made sense.

But somewhere along the way, he began to realize that following the system for a good life and actually feeling fulfilled inside of it weren’t necessarily the same thing.

He had done what he thought he was supposed to do, but underneath it was frustration, low energy, bitterness, and the uncomfortable realization that checking the boxes wasn’t creating the life he wanted.

Ranching became part of the next chapter.

It brought Matt and Kodi closer to land, animals, responsibility, uncertainty, and a completely different way of living.

It also brought financial pressure, hard lessons, and experiences they never could have planned for — including contaminated water on their land that eventually became part of what led them toward Land Communication.

Ranching taught Matt a lot.

It also made something else clear:

Working harder wasn’t automatically going to create the freedom, abundance, impact, or experiences they wanted for their family.

Kodi began her personal development journey first.

Matt watched her change.

Not because she became a different person, but because she began questioning old patterns, becoming more aware of herself, and choosing differently.

Eventually Matt realized he had a choice of his own.

He could level up — or die on the hill of being comfortable in his own misery.

He chose to move.

What Matt brings to the work.

  • Grounded.
  • Observant.
  • Logical.
  • Intuitive.
  • Intentional.

Matt is naturally logical, measured, intuitive, and observant.

He doesn’t need a lot of words to make an impact.

Where someone else might move quickly, Matt often slows down long enough to notice the detail that was about to get missed.

He listens.
He watches.
He holds space.
And when he speaks, there’s usually a reason.

Sometimes the thing you need isn’t another person talking.
It’s someone willing to notice.

Kodi

She kept asking what else was possible.

Kodi’s path has been driven by curiosity.

  • Curiosity about people.
  • About behavior.
  • About relationships.
  • About animals.
  • About energy.
  • About the mind.

About why we become who we become — and whether we have to stay there.

She is naturally energetic, intuitive, spiritual, caring, and deeply interested in what makes people work.

But underneath that curiosity has always been something bigger:

A desire to grow beyond what was inherited.

To recognize the beliefs, behaviors, expectations, and cycles that can move through families and lives without ever being questioned — and decide what deserves to continue.

For Kodi, personal development wasn’t about becoming someone else.

It became a process of discovering what was hers, what wasn’t, what she wanted to keep, and what she was finally willing to change.

The more she discovered, the more curious she became — about human behavior, communication, relationships, the mind, intuition, animals, land, and the many ways our experiences shape the way we move through the world.

Awareness gave her something she hadn’t realized she was missing:

choice.

What Kodi brings to the work.

  • Curious.
  • Energetic.
  • Intuitive.
  • Compassionate.
  • Always exploring.

Kodi brings energy, curiosity, intuition, compassion, and a willingness to go looking beneath the obvious answer.

She asks questions.

Then she asks another one.

She notices connections between things that may appear unrelated.

She’ll challenge an old story, follow an intuitive nudge, explore a pattern, and keep looking until something begins to make sense.

Her question is rarely just, “What’s wrong?”
It’s more often:
“What else is possible?”

Neither perspective is the whole picture.

  • Matt may slow something down.Kodi may get it moving.
  • Matt may notice the detail.Kodi may notice the connection.
  • One may ask for the logic. The other may ask what your intuition already knows.

And sometimes those roles reverse.

That’s the point.

We don’t believe balance means becoming the same.

We believe different perspectives can reveal different parts of the same truth.

Different doesn’t have to mean divided.

Sometimes different is exactly what creates the balance.

That’s Matt + Kodi.
And that’s part of the alchemy.

03 — Why Free Bird Alchemy?

Free Bird is the destination.Alchemy is the process.

Free Bird

Free Bird is about freedom.

Not freedom from responsibility, hard seasons, relationships, work, or the realities of being human.

The kind of freedom we’re interested in begins with awareness.

  • The freedom to recognize a pattern before automatically repeating it.
  • To question a belief you inherited before continuing to live by it.
  • To understand what matters to you instead of spending your life chasing what was supposed to matter.
  • To notice when fear, expectation, habit, or an old version of you is making a decision — and realize you have another choice.

That’s Free Bird.

Alchemy

Alchemy is what happens in between.

At its heart, alchemy is about transformation — taking something in one state and creating something different from what is already there.

That’s how we think about this work.

You don’t throw away your experiences.

You don’t erase where you came from.

You don’t need to become an entirely different person.

You work with what’s already here.

  • Your mind.
  • Your experiences.
  • Your beliefs.
  • Your values.
  • Your relationships.
  • Your intuition.
  • Your strengths.
  • Your patterns.

Even the parts of your story you once wished had happened differently.

You bring them into awareness.

You understand them differently.

You choose what still belongs.

And you create something new from what remains.

That’s the alchemy.

We believe in the AND.

  • Logical + Intuitive
  • Masculine + Feminine
  • Practical + Spiritual
  • Thinking + Feeling
  • Understanding + Experience
  • Awareness + Action

We don’t believe one side has to defeat the other.

We believe there’s power in learning how to work with the whole.

We don’t want you to need us forever.

We’re not interested in becoming the voice in your head telling you how to live.

We’d rather help you hear your own voice more clearly.

  • To ask better questions.
  • Notice more.
  • Understand yourself more deeply.
  • Trust yourself more consciously.
  • And recognize that you may have more choice than you realized.

Because ultimately, this isn’t about becoming more like Matt or Kodi.

It’s about becoming more aware of you.

And then deciding what you want to do with that awareness.

Free Bird is the freedom to choose.

Alchemy is what happens when awareness changes what you choose next.

You were never the box.

You were the one who learned how to live inside it.

Awareness is how you find the door.

04 — The tools behind the work

Training matters. But the technique is never the point.

Matt and Kodi share training across many of the tools they use within Free Bird Alchemy.

That training gives them frameworks, processes, and different ways of exploring what’s happening.

But they don’t begin by deciding which technique to use.

They begin with the person in front of them.

Shared training & experience

  • NLP Master Practitioners
  • Time Line Therapy®
  • Huna
  • Animal & Land Communication
  • Experiential Breakthrough WorkIncluding facilitated firewalk and arrow-break experiences.

Additional tools may include

  • Hypnosis-based techniques
  • Values work
  • Behavioral strategy
  • Communication
  • Mindset & performance work

The tools give us options.

Awareness helps us understand where to begin.

We don’t believe every person needs every process.

We use the tools that fit the work — not the other way around.

02 — The work

More than one way in.

Behavioral work, NLP-based personal development, performance and relationship coaching, Animal & Land Communication, workshops, events, books, digital products and educational resources all have a place here. Each is a branch of the work, not the whole story.
